the ability to help

i love the hit song that came out called Wavin' Flag. It was a bunch of Canadian artists who got together with a vision to help. the plan was to sell the song on iTunes and all of the proceeds made would go to familes and children in Haiti (this was during the horrifying earthquake that ruined the city, let alone lives). who knew that 10 million dollars could be raised, and was raised. i think it's amazing.
it inspires me because young Canadian artists came together with a vision to help. what if all artists could do that, or anyone who was 'famous', blessed with a lot of money because of their great talent. sure, keep some for your self - i get that their are needs to be met in their own lives that it is a good thing they have a job that pays well. but i am talking about how their name is out there...everyone knows them...they have money...they have an ability to help. everyone does, but i am talking about artists or actors that have the opportunity and ability because of their fame to make a difference in lives. i haven't heard of to many doing something like that. wouldn't it be amazing to see every artist, every actor, every athlete, every millionare do something with their money to help people around the world that are literally living in what seems to be nothing compared to
celebrities or someone 'on the top of the list' like that.
that is something that i could see myself doing. that is something that is on my heart. you know maybe i won't be 'famous', maybe i will. i always wanted to be a professional athlete...those people get paid well. but i always wanted (and still want) to be different. i want to make a difference. sure make records and have my name remembered for the most goals scored maybe even most yellow cards given out, but years down the road that would be broken again and my name would be forgotten. instead i would want to be remebered for my ability and love to help. going to africa - seeing the poor. doing something some how and some way with my money that i am blessed with because of a talent. i think that is an important way to be remeberd. that is how i want people to see me. someone with the ability to help. and opportunity to help. the love to help - i would have all of it and surley do it.
now if i didn't have oh so much money there are still ways to help like adoption or sponsering .... something. it doesn't matter how you help it is the thought that counts. sounds cheesy and sounds like something that you might hear from a book...but so true.
that has always been something that i wanted to see more of. more help with the people that have the money and ability to help - do it. you will be blessed. you will be rememberd. and in my books you will have a better name than before.
